The Model Is Not the AI System — in 90 seconds

The model is probably not the hardest part of your AI system. The hard part is everything around it: data, tools, state, permissions, evaluation, failure recovery, and verification.

This 90-second engineering film is my perspective on what it takes to build dependable AI systems for the real world. That perspective comes from designing and operating systems in finance and risk, including a live consumer-credit platform serving more than 10,000 users and deploying more than ₦53 million in credit.

The work shown spans exact analytics, retrieval, knowledge graphs, tool-calling agents, evidence-grounded reasoning, evaluation, human review, and production reliability.

The model matters. But the system around it is what makes AI usable, dependable, and worth trusting.
